Why this review?

The Freo Z10 Ultra is the robot that put Narwal on the map with the general public. Sold at €499 on sale (versus a €1299 list price), it promises a premium experience — dual-camera navigation, triangular mop pads, a complete dock — at a mid-range price. We wanted to check whether this aggressive positioning holds up in daily use.
Quick verdict
| Buy the Z10 Ultra if... | Skip it if... |
|---|---|
| you want the best premium value of 2026, top-tier navigation and corner mopping | you demand absolute maximum suction or the Flow 2's hot-water mopping |
It's the sweet-spot robot: nearly everything that makes the high end, at half the flagship's price.
Our testing method
Three-week test in a 70 m² apartment (parquet and tile, a narrow hallway, several sharp corners). Scenarios: daily dust, hair, pet fur, everyday obstacles and hard-floor mopping.
We paid particular attention to behaviour in corners and along baseboards, the central argument for the triangular mop pads, as well as the real noise level in use.
Suction: 18,000 Pa well managed
With 18,000 Pa and automatic adjustment to the floor type, the Freo Z10 Ultra handles daily needs with ease: crumbs, dust, hair, pet fur. It's a notch below the Flow 2 on thick rugs, but for hard floors and thin-to-medium rugs, the difference is barely noticeable day to day.
The anti-tangle V-brush prevents hair wrap-around — something we can confirm after three weeks with no need to untangle the brush.
Mopping: corners finally clean

The Freo Z10 Ultra's signature feature is its triangular mop pads (Reuleaux shape) that spin and extend to the edge of the baseboards. The result: 90° corners, the classic weak spot of robots with round mop pads, are genuinely cleaned. In our corner-heavy apartment, it's the most visible difference.
Mopping is done cold, with 8 N of pressure. That's effective for daily upkeep and light stains. For stubborn dried stains, the Flow 2 and its hot water keep the edge, but for everyday use the Z10 Ultra does the job very well.
Navigation: the real strong point
The NarMind Pro dual-camera navigation is where the Z10 Ultra impresses most for its price. It recognises more than 200 objects with a claimed 5 mm precision. In our cluttered hallway, the robot avoided cables, a charger and shoes with reliability close to the flagship's. Mapping is fast and stable.
Quiet operation
Often overlooked: the Freo Z10 Ultra runs under 56 dB in normal mode, about the level of a hushed conversation. You can run it while working from home or during the children's nap without being disturbed — real everyday comfort.
Pros / Cons
Pros:
- Unbeatable value at €499 (down from €1299)
- Triangular mop pads that genuinely clean corners
- Top-tier dual-camera navigation for the price
- Ultra-quiet operation (under 56 dB)
- Anti-tangle V-brush
Cons:
- Suction a notch below the Flow 2 (18,000 vs 31,000 Pa)
- Cold mopping — no hot water during cleaning
- Slightly bulky dock
Which household is it for?
The Freo Z10 Ultra is the ideal choice for most households: mid-sized apartments and houses, hard floors with corners, budgets that want premium without hitting €1000. It's our "best value" recommendation of the range.
If you want hot-water mopping and maximum suction, step up to the Narwal Flow 2. If budget comes first, the Narwal Freo X10 Pro at €279 remains an excellent entry point.
Final verdict
The Narwal Freo Z10 Ultra is the smartest robot in the range: it captures the essence of Narwal's know-how — dual-camera navigation, corner mopping, quiet operation — for half the flagship's price. It's our "safe pick" from the best robot vacuums 2026 comparison.
